Keep Me Accountable – Day 9

Ah, Monday… It was too beautiful to go to work.

But I had no choice.

What happened on days 7 and 8? Well, like I said, I had egg hunts and birthday parties, family dinners and long drives up into the mountains. It was a glorious weekend and it wore me slap out.

Yep, slap out. No writing accomplished whatsoever… Just time to look back over my notes and do some emailing brainstorming with my crit partner. Dianna knows the story as well as I and she never fails to remind me what direction I was headed in when I got distracted and took a detour.

So the laptop went with me to work today and at lunch I revised a chapter and added a scene I’d written weeks, no maybe months, ago…

I love doing that… finding a scene that I wrote a long time before and discovering it has its place in the story afterall. It’s like a God moment. You didn’t know it at the time, but the good Lord had put that scene in your head. You couldn’t use it right away like you thought, and that can be disappointing. But it’s so thrilling when you find you’re able to use it later and it fits perfectly.
